Giving Onesies a Try
Not only does Amber hate the plastic cone of shame, but she also seems to get a skin irritation in her ears when she wears one long term (we’re thinking she may have some sort of plastic allergy). Tonight I ordered some cute baby onesies from Amazon after being inspired by Purrkins’ story. Searching for cute onesies was kind of fun and made this process a little easier, a little more light-hearted. I’m pretty crafty so I’m hoping I can fashion something out of them to keep Amber out of the cone of shame. I will be sure to update on my crafting process if I am successful!
Cannot wait to see Amber in her cute little onesies! She will be a fashionista and the rnvy of kitties all around the world with her rocking Style! We’ll be waiting for the pictures.
I am hoping she takes to the onesies. Maybe she’ll tolerate them once she realizes that they’re a better alternative to the cone. I don’t plan on using them for the first day or two so I can keep a close eye on the incision.
Oh to add on to my comment on the other post, we used a compression shirt designed for forelimb tripawd dogs, and some “dog clothes” that are similar to onesies because Loki also did not tolerate the cone of shame. We made it through the entire recovery process without it thanks to his clothes. As long as you can keep the onesies or the dressing below tight enough (or loose enough) that they don’t move and rub the incision, I think Amber will do just fine!
